Postcards From Australia – An exhibition of Watercolour Paintings
In these works, separate planes of depth accentuate the difference between the many layers in a scene. Each plane has its own story within the painting, but together they make the image whole.
Many things that happen in a place over time can be included. Birds carving up the scene, bicycle riders passing, a whale out to sea, fish, insects, stars at night and the changes in perspective as you wander around. All are part of the scene over the time and tell more of the story, invoking more memories and giving a greater understanding of place.
